We have always felt that Cherry Valley was a unique club that rivals the best of the best. Our members know this. Now we can quantify this belief having been recognized as one of the top clubs in the entire country.

Cherry Valley Country Club in Skillman, New Jersey has been named a Platinum Club of America. This is the ultimate recognition of club excellence, equivalent to the esteemed Mobil 5 Star Rating awarded to hotels and resorts.

Only three other private New Jersey clubs received the same recognition in the full service country club category. Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, Alpine Country Club in Demarest and Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit also made the list.

The Platinum Clubs of America list is the result of a nationwide survey of club managers, presidents and owners. Clubs are evaluated based upon the quality of their membership, management and staff, their tradition, culture, amenities, and in the case of member-owned clubs, their governance.

Commenting on the significance of this award, John R. Sibbald, publisher of Club Leader’s Forum, said “Call it bragging rights. Good prospective new members are always attracted to the best clubs. Only three percent of the nation’s clubs earn this honor.”

“We have always felt that Cherry Valley was a unique club that rivals the best of the best. Our members know this. Now we can quantify this belief having been recognized as one of the top clubs in the entire country,” said Hugh Hurley, president of Cherry Valley Country Club’s Board of Directors. “We have a wonderfully diverse membership, outstanding facilities including our Rees Jones Championship Golf Course, our family aquatics center, and the best tennis in the area. Throw in our superb staff that are really part of our family, and you have the best family club in all of New Jersey. Our club is the social centerpiece of our member’s lives. It just doesn’t get any better than this,” says Hurley.
