This year’s Christmas holiday season won’t be joyful for millions. We all have something difficult to deal with in life. No one is exempt from illness, tragedy or death, no matter how many billions they have in the bank. Although there are many natural ways to help lift these feelings of anxiety and depression, millions of people, with their medical doctor’s urging, have turned to pharmaceutical drugs.
Many of the patients that I see who are on the drugs who are regulated properly, do not seem to have any spirit at all. They can function without causing problems for the family and community, blend in rather than stand out. Some of the ones who are not properly regulated suffer needlessly from psychotic breakdowns and other terrible side-effects. What makes me sad is to see that the traditional medical world still seems to see no other way to deal with this growing problem.
Since so many of my patients came to me feeling overwhelmed and helpless I formulated condition specific natural remedies to help them --the anchors to a life-enhancing program that helps to uplift your mood and then allow you to move forward and help yourself regain a positive sense of well-being. Ones with no side-effects that could create further distress. I highly recommend having a holistic based, mental health professional to help guide you through the process.
Tools That Can Help Naturally
Eat a healthy diet. Don't skip meals. When possible, make meal time a social time. Avoid sugars and refined carbohydrates (think white - white bread, white rice, etc.) and concentrate on complex carbohydrates (whole grains, beans, legumes) and fresh organic fruits and vegetables found in Whole Foods Markets and farmer’s markets.
Exercise. It's amazing how a little exercise can improve your mood. Start slowly if you haven't exercised in a while and gradually increase. Even a ten minute walk will help. The key is consistency - do some for of exercise every day.
Challenge negative thought patterns. When you catch yourself thinking negatively, whether it's about yourself or another, write it down. Then write down a positive replacement. Just telling yourself not to be so negative won't do it. You need to see the positive side in order to change the negative.
Get an adequate amount of sleep. Whether you’re sleeping too little or too much, your mood suffers. Get on a better sleep schedule by learning healthy sleep habits. Dr. Garber’s Natural Solution for Sleep is our number one best selling formula because you fall asleep quickly, wake up feeling refreshed, without any side effects.
Expose yourself to a little sunlight every day. Lack of sunlight can make depression worse. Make sure you’re getting enough. Take a short walk outdoors, have your coffee outside, enjoy an al fresco meal, people-watch on a park bench, or sit out in the garden.
Practice relaxation techniques. A daily relaxation practice can help relieve symptoms of depression, reduce stress, and boost feelings of joy and well-being. Try yoga, deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, or meditation.
Fight the blues by managing stress. Not only does stress prolong and worsen sad feelings, it can also trigger it. In order to get over depression and stay well, it’s essential to learn how to minimize and cope with stress.
Nutritional supplementation such as a natural source, food based (non-synthetic) multivitamin/mineral, omega-3 fatty acids as found in fish oil and a good quality probiotic, and condition specific biotherapy formulas such as those available on my site, http://www.drgarbers.com will all be helpful.
