Brian Pilcher wins 2009 Dipsea Race

Brian Pilcher, the 2011 U.S. National Champion for Men 55-59 in the 5,000 and 10,000-meters on the track, clocked a 16:05.12 in the 5K at the SF State Distance Carnival to set a new American record for Men 55-59 this past weekend. This new standard is more than nine seconds faster than the previous mark of 16:14.55 held by Rick Becker. An inaugural member of The ElliptiGO Project, a group of elite runners focused on using innovative training tools and techniques to improve performance, Pilcher has used the ElliptiGO to recover from various injuries that sidelined him for all of 2010.
