CelebrityBusinessAnalyst.com releases its weekly box office report following a Forbes article on Man of Steel’s opening weekend. In its report, Celebrity Business Analyst looks at some of the reasons behind the successful release of the new Superman film.

Celebrity Business Analyst announced the release of its weekly box office report today. After a June 16 Forbes article that discussed Man of Steel’s successful opening weekend, CelebrityBusinessAnalyst.com takes a look at this weekend’s box office numbers. Included in the analysis are a few reasons why the site thinks Man of Steel was such a hit.

Celebrity Business Analyst believes that Man of Steel has all the ingredients to rank among top summer blockbusters. Superhero movies do extremely well in the summer, and a classic hero like Superman is sure to attract a wide variety of audiences. The movie didn’t disappoint, producing an opening weekend gross of $116.7 million, according to Box Office Mojo. Celebrity Business Analyst’s chief editor released the following statement in response to the movie’s successful weekend debut:

This is a definite triumph for Warner Bros. and DC Comics, since a lot of recent superhero movies have been based on Marvel comics. With such a great opening weekend and with the movie yet to open worldwide, Man of Steel might inspire enough interest for WB to make a sequel and then a Justice League movie in the coming years.

Celebrity Business Analyst has a few ideas as to why the movie did so well this weekend. The site thinks that it was no coincidence that Man of Steel opened on Father’s Day weekend, making it a perfect occasion to attract families and audiences. Also responsible for the film’s lucrative opening was the marketing department at Warner Bros. Trailers released before Man of Steel’s debut were enough to pique the interest of fans while keeping much of the action under wraps. Fans that enjoy viewing the original Superman films - including Superman Returns (2006) - on dish network channels were also keen to see if WB could breathe new life into the story.

The movie did open to a handful of international audiences this weekend, grossing $71.6 million there. That number should rise quickly as Man of Steel opens in more countries this week.

Celebrity Business Analyst focused on the new release of Man of Steel in its weekend box office report, cheering on the success of the new Superman movie. The site believes that the numbers will continue to climb as the film goes up against other summer blockbuster releases next week.
