With all the apps, information, and services available online these days, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Knowing what to do online, and what to do the traditional way is difficult. On June 24, 2013, the Better Business Bureau published an article entitled, “Wedding Planning? Be a Tech-Savvy Bride”, and Do the Bride a Favor is drawing inspiration from this article to give brides some wedding budget tips.

1.    Rent The Dresses
Wedding dresses used to be handed down from generation to generation. Today’s brides, however, are finding a cheaper alternative by scouring the internet and finding places that rent wedding and bridesmaids dresses. By renting these frocks, brides and bridesmaids save money and don’t have to deal with the hassle of cleaning and storing the dresses.

2.    Invite Online
With social media playing such a key role in contemporary society, it’s an easy way to save money on invitations. Set up an online RSVP site, and order just a few paper invitations to send to those relatives or friends who don’t use the internet.

3.    Stream It
If there are friends and family members who can’t make the trip, instead of shelling out money to get them to the ceremony set up a webcam to stream and capture the big day.

4.    Be the DJ
Download an app on the bride or groom’s phone to program the wedding and reception music into. If needed, ask a friend to keep an eye on the phone during key moments.

5.    Purchase or Sell Used Wedding Necessities
Many brides are saving thousands of dollars by purchasing used wedding equipment such as chair covers and other décor, and even booking cancelled wedding venues. Check online for websites that resell wedding items. When the wedding is over, set up an eBay account to sell unwanted left overs.

6.    Have a DIY Day
If the bride is including lots of DIY elements into the wedding, set up a Facebook group and ask bridesmaids or friends to come over for a DIY day. Have everything necessary for the required items, and spend a day making them. This can include anything from boxing up sweets or party favors to creating elements for the décor. Have refreshments and snacks on hand to keep the creativity flowing.

Do the Bride a Favor gives money saving tips to help brides and party planners use modern technology and save thousands. This includes inviting guests online and scouring the internet for resources.
