Both companies see real benefits in working together - we share a number of clients, have complementary technologies and strive for excellence with our customers.
Fredericton, New Brunswick (PRWEB) January 23, 2013
Canadian company Remsoft, a leading provider of advanced analytics, modeling and spatial optimization solutions, and Brazilian company Inflor Consultoria e Sistemas, also a market leader of forest management systems, have joined forces to serve the business planning needs of the natural resource industry in South America. The Inflor-Remsoft relationship results in delivering Remsoft services to that market and will enable South American companies to ensure optimal use of Remsoft technologies, leading to more sustainably managed natural resources while ensuring all regulatory standards are being met.
While Remsoft has been operating in Brazil for several years, this new agreement ensures their clients have access to well-trained professionals on the ground.
“Our South American clients deserve quality local support. We will work closely with Inflor to provide the highest level of training,” says Andrea Feunekes, Co-CEO of Remsoft Inc. “Both companies see real benefits in working together - we share a number of clients, have complementary technologies and strive for excellence with our customers."
Operational planning is of immediate interest to both Inflor and Remsoft, and in the coming weeks the two companies will be discussing how to tackle an integrated solution. Going forward, the companies will be working on a solution that will bring Remsoft and Inflor’s optimization technology and operational planning capabilities to clients in Brazil and the greater South American market.
“One of the advantages of working with Remsoft in this way will be the opportunity to learn more about each other’s technologies,” says Niva Vilela, Executive Director, Inflor. “We see a number of opportunities where a tighter integration could be of huge benefit to our clients.”
Alongside Russia, India and China, Brazil is one of the fastest emerging market economies. Of the four, Brazil had the fastest growing economy during the 2007-2011 period, according to a Research and Markets Report. The forest industry alone reported market revenues of $36.3 billion in 2011 and is expected to grow to $60.3 billion by 2016. Effectively optimizing assets at this scale creates the opportunity to generate substantial cost-savings and revenue enhancements all along the forestry value chain.
With 64% of Brazil’s land area covered in forest, the drive for long term sustainability puts pressure on the forest industry to make the most of the resource while planning for future opportunities. For example, the appropriate forest certification becomes imperative, and managing Brazilian forested land in a sustainable manner is pushing companies to rethink their short and long term plans, thereby requiring them to manage the resource in a more dynamic way. Combining Inflor’s technology and expertise with Remsoft’s powerful optimization platform helps companies maximize value by enabling them to select the best opportunities and the best timing to execute them within the complex, changing constraints of the forest and related assets.
