Finn Law Group, P.A., a Florida-based law firm, has filed suit in Florida’s Orange County Circuit Court (Case #2012-CA-020314-O) against Wyndham Vacation Resorts, Inc. and Wyndham Vacation Ownership, Inc. The firm and its principal attorney, Michael D. Finn, are plaintiffs along with two couples that are Finn Law Group clients. The lawsuit alleges violations of both the Federal and State of Florida’s Debt Collection Practices Act, two counts of Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Practices Act, and two counts of Tortuous Interference by Wyndham of Finn’s established attorney-client relationships with the firm’s clients.
In April of this year, Finn Law Group filed Deceptive Sales Practice Claims against Wyndham with the Attorney General of Florida (case #2012042539) on behalf of Finn’s clients (the majority of them senior citizens) who previously purchased timeshare interests from Wyndham. These matters are still pending.
Finn is determined to keep the pressure on Wyndham and its business methodology. He is alleging, "According to our latest suit, Wyndham is routinely engaging in conduct that is calculated to discourage timeshare owners from hiring lawyers to assist them with their timeshare grievances against the company. Timeshare owners have the absolute right to hire legal counsel if they feel that they have been victimized by their resort, particularly if the resort has turned a deaf ear to the owners themselves."
