With e-signatures, what used to be a resource- and time-intensive process has become a five-minute electronic process – more secure, efficient and significantly less costly.

Silanis, the leader in enterprise electronic signature solutions with the largest e-signature deployments, announces that US Central Command (CENTCOM), one of 10 combatant commands in the United States military, is now using Silanis e-Sign Desktop™ (formerly ApproveIt Desktop™) to electronically sign any document that requires command action and approval.

Silanis e-Sign Desktop is an out-of-the-box e-signature solution ideal for ad-hoc, internal signing processes. As a plug-in for Microsoft® Word™, Microsoft® Excel™ and other common file formats, e-Sign Desktop™ can be quickly integrated with an organization’s existing business processes and IT infrastructure to reduce paper-related costs and errors, compress cycle times, and increase productivity and responsiveness.

In the past, an administrator would print the task order document generated by their workflow environment, Microsoft® SharePoint® and Microsoft’s CRM task management tool. An administrator would then put it in a paper folder, and hand-carry it to Senior Command Personnel for review and an ink signature. Once signed, the administrator would return to pick up the folder, and scan the signed document back into the workflow system. The typical paper process could take up to several hours for each task order, with an average of a dozen being manually routed for signature each day. Automating this process has greatly improved response times when executing mission critical commands in support of the Military Mission.

“Many organizations are grappling with the challenge of how to fill the gaps between their core systems. What starts out as an electronic document falls to paper at the point where you need to capture a signature. As a result, valuable time is spent printing, faxing, routing, and chasing paper – and then scanning it to get it back into that electronic stream,” says Tommy Petrogiannis, Silanis CEO and co-founder. “With e-signatures, what used to be a resource- and time-intensive process has become a five-minute electronic process – more secure, efficient and significantly less costly.”
