Maas commended the NJ Turnpike Authority on the idea of using YouTube videos. “People love videos and they can be shared on any social media platform,” Maas said. “It might be a good idea to use videos of accident survivors speaking out against unsafe driving or just videos reminding people of the dangers of driving in inclement weather or speeding.”

The article revealed the idea for the campaign evolved from the Turnpike Authority’s stats, which detailed the amount of traffic on the parkway near the Jersey Shore. Younger people tend to be more attracted to the area and therefore, the parkway is the main focus for the campaign.
