Port Charlotte, FL (PRWEB) January 01, 2013

One Tax Once is an organization on a mission to reform taxation by replacing the current complex, ineffective federal tax structure with a single 14% tax on gross domestic product (GDP). With the fiscal cliff crisis rapidly approaching, One Tax Once offers a solution that will eradicate the partisan gridlock pushing America toward recession and provide a fair, balanced, effective tax plan to stabilize the nation's economy.

There are several roadblocks currently preventing Congress from reaching an agreement regarding the impending fiscal cliff. These roadblocks are almost entirely centered around how to address taxation and government spending to support and strengthen the American economy both in the short term and the long term. Unfortunately, partisanship in the legislature has delayed an agreement on these important issues.

The One Tax Once tax plan will abolish this stalemate by eliminating federal taxes levied upon individual citizens, ending the debate over who is or isn't paying their fair share. With questions of tax revenue addressed via a straightforward tax on GDP, legislators will be able to focus entirely on managing government spending and allocating revenues to achieve greatest social benefit.

Under One Tax Once, citizens and the majority of American businesses will pay no taxes. Retailers will pay a 14% tax on new goods and services sold. This tax will not be added to retail sale prices at the time of purchase. Due to the fact that manufacturers and distributors will no longer pay taxes and will therefore operate at lower costs, retailers will take in a surplus over and above current revenues and will be able to cover this 14% tax without raising prices.

The federal government collected an average of $180 billion per month in taxes during 2011. One Tax Once will keep this money in the hands of American citizens, resulting in a massive stimulus that will create jobs and speed economic recovery, while still providing the government the same or greater revenue.

With the fiscal cliff looming, One Tax Once offers a plan that will end the partisan deadlock in Congress and get America working again. Visit OneTaxOnce.org for more information and a full explanation of this new tax structure.
