“We are thrilled to work with such an incredible organization that provides an essential service to our country by helping to conserve the natural beauty around us,” said Miranda Salley, Vice President of EPC Group.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) January 03, 2013
EPC Group, one of the principal Microsoft SharePoint and Project Server integrators in the United States, today announced that a leading National Conservation Non-Profit Organization has selected EPC Group to design and implement its Microsoft SharePoint 2010 environment, external and internal websites and train its staff.
“We are thrilled to work with such an incredible organization that provides an essential service to our country by helping to conserve the natural beauty around us,” said Miranda Salley, Vice President of EPC Group. “It has been a pleasure working with them on the design phase and we look forward to the completion and launch of their new websites, which will help to increase their outreach to the public and also simplify collaboration within the organization.”
In 2009, EPC Group’s National Conservation client’s CIO deployed MOSS 2007 to create a document management system for employees. After working through some kinks, his intention was to leverage SharePoint even further, for example, by applying it to the internal portal and the external website. Intrigued by The EPC Group’s proprietary SharePoint Corporate Culture Adoption Strategies™ he sought out their proven methodologies for his end users, including their methodologies to customize the branding on his internet-facing and external sites. With the strategic aim of bringing in higher contributions from the Non-Profit’s affiliate organizations and donors, he was confident that EPC Group’s established position in the market as SharePoint experts would be the best fit. EPC Group allowed his organization to work off of their expansive knowledge, implementing lessons learned and delivering immediate ROI, by eliminating risk and loss he experienced with past SharePoint firms.
“I experienced trial and error during our own initial implementation and what gave me great confidence in EPC Group is that no matter what question, request or issue I brought to them, they had seen or heard it before and knew how to handle it,” the Non-Profit’s CEO further stated. “EPC Group has helped drive the entire design process and is now beginning the implementation of SharePoint 2010 along with full ECM, metadata and external website design strategies.”
The new external site is scheduled to go live in March 2013 and will provide an integrated platform where employees can upload documents on their own to share with the public - not only speeding up the upload process and further organizing documents, but also relieving some of the duties of the internal IT team. The next phase will be the creation of an internal portal.
“I want to give employees one place to go for all of their documents, whether it’s our healthcare program information or company reports. I envision the internal portal being the first stop when employees log-in for the day,” he said. “The new SharePoint structure will reduce the amount of clicks it takes to locate a document - say from 10 clicks to three. It will ease the frustration felt with our current file share and will provide easy adoption from both our internal and external users.”
EPC Group will also provide onsite training for the National Conservation Foundation employees, teaching them how SharePoint 2010 can benefit them in their everyday duties and make collaboration even easier. EPC Group plans to implement their proprietary Bottom Up Strategy™ for end user adoption focusing on exceeding the typical envisioning workshops executed loosely by most SharePoint Integrators.
“Our team is filled with young professionals who are eager to embrace new technology, but changing an entire system can still be painful until it is understood and the benefits are realized,” quoted the Conservation’s CIO. “EPC Group has already been essential in helping to gain buy-in from everyone on the SharePoint project and will be instrumental in getting the team up and running quickly with the new websites. With the wins we have already achieved with our team and steering committee around SharePoint 2010, we are thrilled that EPC Group implemented hybrid strategies based on their in depth knowledge of SharePoint 2013.” Knowing this is in place lets my team breathe a lot easier bringing confidence that the transition onto the 2013 SharePoint platform will be as seamless as possible.”
