Charm ROSA® MRLBLRFTET2 Test

The MRLBLRFTET2 is the only test demonstrated to comply with the Custom Union import specifications.

Lawrence, MA (PRWEB) January 08, 2013

The Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries Research (ILVO-T&V, Belgium) issued a report stating that Charm Sciences’ MRLBLRFTET2 test is appropriate for screening raw, commingled, bovine milk meant for import by Customs Union countries, which currently includes Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus.

Last year, the ILVO validated a similar test (MRLBLTET2) for beta-lactam and tetracycline for European Union countries. To meet Custom Union regulations, the MRLBLRFTET2 test must detect tetracycline at lower levels.

Charm Sciences Vice President of Regulatory and Industrial Affairs Bob Salter says “The ILVO laboratory is a respected European laboratory that performs test kit validations according to the European Guidance for Screening Methods. The milk industry uses this information to determine if the methods are fit for their purpose and to compare methods in a standardized evaluation format. This validation is important because the MRLBLRFTET2 is the only test demonstrated to comply with the Custom Union import specifications.”

The ILVO-T&V performed their validation using both the ROSA® Pearl reader and the Charm EZ® system. The new Charm EZ offers an incubator and reader on a single platform and features built-in diagnostics that help prevent operator error.
