“The goal is not to replace TV, but to replicate the analogue of inviting people into your living room.” – Fabrizio Capobianco, CEO and founder, the San Francisco-based Social TV company, today announced the launch of TOK Football, the first free iPad app that allows up to four people to “voice chat” while watching their favorite game on TV. The experience is enhanced by real-time statistics and information about the game, making it the perfect TV companion for NFL fans this postseason.

“ represents the perfect Social TV companion,” said Fabrizio Capobianco, CEO and founder of “The goal is not to replace TV, but rather preserve the authentic experience of watching TV together with friends – even if they live afar. The idea is to replicate the analogue of inviting people into your living room.”

TOK Football follows’s first app, TOK Baseball, which launched during the 2012 MLB postseason and is currently available in the App Store. During this initial beta period, users spent an average of 57 minutes inside the app per game. A very significant number given that a recent study reported average sessions for mobile applications lasting less than two minutes.

TOK Football offers upgraded features including Facebook integration for faster and easier login and friend invite.

Key Features:

  • Find the Game – It's easy to spot all the live games in a cool, zoomable map.
  • Invite Friends – See who is watching the game and ask them to join the virtual living room.
  • Talk While Watching – Voice chat with up to three other friends simultaneously while watching the game on TV.
  • Make Noise – Express yourself with the sound carousel – it's like being at the stadium.
  • Get More From The TV Broadcast – Learn more about the game and players with additional stats and facts on the iPad screen.

It’s anticipated that second screen technology will be among the most relevant tech trends of 2013. According to the latest Nielsen research, 41 percent of tablet owners and 38 percent of smartphone owners use their devices while watching TV.

TOK Football can be downloaded for free on the App Store and works with any version of the iPad, including the iPad Mini.

About puts VOICE at the center of the Social TV revolution, because TALKING to friends while watching TV is so much better than tweeting or texting.
