LONDON - Woovio Limited has announced the release of a new business application for use on the Apple iPad. Titled “KnowMyTeam," the app has been designed to help with the people management aspect of running a business.
Andrew Reid, Director of Woovio Limited and the creator of KnowMyTeam, says that understanding who is doing what in a team is critical for the manager to keep the team running effectively. Management is currently under the spotlight in a lot of companies partially due to the current economic climate where businesses are seeking to maximize productivity while controlling costs.
Reid decided to start his IT consulting company Woovio Limited following redundancy in April 2012. Reid has held director roles managing technology teams in various organizations including a global investment bank, to national charities.
He said: “The journey from redundancy to small business owner was scary but also a very exciting opportunity. I have strong opinions about how I want to use technology within business, which is where inspiration for KnowMyTeam comes from.”
The idea behind the KnowMyTeam application is to enable managers to communicate responsibilities clearly to employees. This ensures that workers know exactly what they’re supposed to be doing within the team.
Reid said: “I identified responsibility management as a function managers were struggling with – and I wanted to bring the tool to the iPad because of its increasing use within the business environment. “

The KnowMyTeam app is designed to be an intuitive tool that can be used by any manager within an organisation. As management training has suffered as a result of the economic downturn, Reid believes the KnowMyTeam app is an adequate substitute to days or weeks spent in the classroom.
KnowMyTeam brings responsibilities matrixes to the iPad so managers can keep important team information at their fingertips. It provides an intuitive framework for managers to collaborate with their team, their boss and their customers to clearly define and communicate who is expected to do what.
KnowMyTeam allows for one matrix to be created with up to 10 tasks. KnowMyTeam Pro allows for unlimited matrixes and tasks, and also the ability to share matrixes straight from the app in picture, PDF or Excel format.
Both versions include examples that demonstrate how KnowMyTeam can record, delegate and share information across single or multiple teams.
