The Tubac Golf Resort and Spa will combine leisure with fine art, in three exciting events coming up in 2013. Patience Heyl will present The Tubac Ultimate Art Retreat from February 3-6, and Roberta Rogers will present two watercolor experiences; Escape Winter with Wonderful Colors on February 22 and Where Art & History Meet on March 1, 2013.

After vacationing at the Tubac Golf Resort and Spa, Patience Heyl found the resort a perfect place to host one of her Ultimate Art Retreats. Patience, now approaching her 13th year as the Resident Artist at the famous Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado, invites you to attend this special Oil Painting Retreat, promising it will be beyond compare. Patience is recognized as a Professional Artist by collectors throughout the USA, Europe and Mexico. She began her instructional career at the Instituto Allende in San Miquel de Allende, Mexico, followed by 30-years teaching in Wisconsin, Florida, California, and Colorado. She is a proud member of the Oil Painters of America. Patience’s work may be viewed at Cobalt Fine Art Gallery in Tubac, Arizona and at the Hunter-Wolff Gallery in Colorado.

The Tubac Ultimate Art Retreat includes a welcome reception followed by daily instruction from 9am to 4pm, to include demonstrations in both plein air and still life. Lunch is provided each day. On Monday, after a morning of painting, artists visit the village of Tubac for an instructional tour highlighting the Cobalt Fine Art Gallery. Artist tuition is $475. Guestrooms rates are $149-$179 plus tax and resort fee per day. Attendees may wish to extend their stay and attend the 54th Annual Tubac Festival of the Arts. In the 1950’s Tubac was discovered by a small group of artists who found that the area had ‘the light’, that allusive quality so rarely found. Today many artists call Tubac their home, including Nicholas Wilson, Roberta Rogers, Fred Collins, David Voisard, Ana Thompson and Carolyn Wayland. A sampling of their work and more information about these fine artists may be seen at http://www.PattiToddPublicRelations.com. World-renowned galleries dot the village including Cobalt Fine Art Gallery, Roberta Rogers Watercolors Gallery, Turquoise Tortoise Rogoway Gallery and K. Newby Gallery & Sculpture Garden.
