InventHelp®, America’s largest inventor service company, announces that one of its clients, an inventor from Ontario, Canada, has designed a tool to eliminate errors and guesswork when measuring and cutting door trim and window castings. This invention is patented.
“Double Square” features two speed squares that overlap and are joined together via a locking nut and slide along the door jambs to measure trim. This invention could be used for a variety of applications. According to the inventor, Double Square could save time and labor.
Double Square would consist of a device producible of aluminum or plastic and measure eight inches in height, twelve inches in length and fourteen inches in width. The invention could be made on a smaller or larger scale. Two triangular speed squares would overlap and join together by a guide rail and a locking nut. A finger hole would be located on the left side which would feature rounded corners on the bottom edges and a ruler marking for standard and metric measurements. To operate, the user would set the square to the width of the trim plus the reveal by releasing the lock nut and sliding the top forward. The user then tightens the bolt at the desired measurement. The square could now be placed in the door jamb or window casing and the tops could be marked. The opposite side may be marked by flipping over the device. Double Square could be produced in versions to be used with window trim installation, as well as laying out astragal, panel moulding, door stop and more.
InventHelp is attempting to submit the invention to companies for review. If substantial interest is expressed, the company will attempt to negotiate for a sale or royalties for the inventor. For more information, telephone Dept. 09-TOR-8427 at (800) 851-6030.
