Oakville, Ontario (PRWEB) January 08, 2013
Phybridge Inc., a leader in two-wire network switch technology, today announced the introduction of the Phybridge PoLRE® (Power over Long Reach Ethernet) switch family. The PoLRE data switch family delivers Ethernet and Power over Ethernet over a single pair of voice-grade copper wire with 4 times the reach of traditional Ethernet switches. The PoLRE switch combines unique single-pair Ethernet with robust power capabilities to provide the most reliable platform for IP Telephony deployments.
"As pioneers of 2-wire Ethernet technology, we overcame network design challenges and introduced many innovations in creating the PoLRE switch. Simplicity and robustness are at the core of everything we do here," says Oliver Emmanuel, Founder and President of Phybridge. "Exceptional PoE capabilities, simple intuitive Web GUI, and low power consumption are all characteristics of our PoLRE switch family."
A Better Converged LAN Topology
The PoLRE switch allows businesses to create the most robust converged local area network (LAN) topology possible. Businesses can leverage their existing, proven-reliable voice infrastructure to create a separate network path for voice communications, complementing an existing data network, while optimizing an organization’s IT infrastructure for voice and data convergence. It is designed specifically to handle any organization’s existing or future real-time voice requirements, delivering a robust platform ensuring voice quality of service today and into the future. Prior to the Phybridge innovation, desktop convergence with the IP phone acting as a switch for the data device was the commonly used method due to switch reach limitations and wiring requirements.
"Desktop convergence results in many compromises; customers want Quality of Service regardless of data loads, voice continuity even if the data network fails, a highly-secure converged network, and an easy network to install and manage," says Steven Fair, EVP of Phybridge. "The game-changing PoLRE switch moves the convergence point from every desktop to a single point in the central closet, and delivers on everything that is important to the customer at a much lower total cost of ownership."
Introducing PowerWISE®, Another Industry First
PoLRE switches come standard with PowerWISE technology, providing the flexibility to use either AC or DC power sources with the same switches. Power sharing, load balancing, hot-swappable power supply, and some of the lowest power consuming data switches in the industry are standard features of the PoLRE switch. These feature-rich power capabilities combined with the point-to-point topology and dedicated bandwidth to every IP phone result in the most robust converged LAN topology.
"We are excited to bring the PoLRE switch to market. There is tremendous interest from leading IP Telephony vendors," says John Croce, CEO of Phybridge. "We recently entered into an OEM agreement with Mitel Networks whose StreamLine switch has been launched globally. We will also be announcing a strategic relationship with another global IP Telephony vendor shortly that will solidify PoLRE as the global enabler of IP Telephony."
The PoLRE switch comes in 24 port or 48 port configuration and scales to thousands of users. Phybridge will also be introducing a 9 port count switch during the second quarter of 2013 to address the SMB and Cloud Telephony markets.
