Dr. Blair Masters has released new book “You Can Cure Your Depression.”

Dr. Blair Masters, of Arkansas Physical Health & Rehab, wrote “You Can Cure Your Depression,” a short book which explores natural approaches to curing depression.

Long-term use of prescription drugs can be harmful and can lead to dependence. In 2009, about 16 million adult Americans abused prescription drugs, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

The idea Dr. Masters conveys in “You Can Cure Your Depression” is that while some medications can treat the symptoms of depression the problem goes deeper, and the cause of the illness can be treated in other, holistic ways by the sufferer.

“Although sometimes medications are needed, when you take an active role in your improvement, it is like taking charge of your health,” Masters said. “When you take charge of your health, there is very little that can stand in your way.”

Depression is very prevalent in the United States. About one-in-ten adults report depression, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

“The most important thing a reader can take from this book is the holistic health philosophy that is discussed and that can be applied to all areas of health, not simply depression,” Masters said.
The book will is available on It will be offered as a free download for a five-day period beginning on Jan. 19, 2013.

“I was inspired to write this book by a patient who suffered from severe postpartum depression,” Masters said. “She had been to a number of different doctors, tried many different drugs, all with no results. I applied the treatment philosophy that I discuss in the book and she received excellent results.”
