Cultural shifts and changing attitudes defined a generation and influenced generations to come, and the story reflects this.

Sex, drugs and rock and roll. This phrase is a staple of the 1960s and 1970s, but what really went on behind the music that classified this era?

In his novel 'Hollywood The Band,' Steven Jordan Brooks chronicles the efforts and hardships of a fictional rock band struggling to make it in the music industry against the backdrop of turbulent times. Based on Brooks’ personal experiences and professional knowledge, the story takes readers on a journey of drug culture, sexual attitudes, civil rights, women’s rights, counterculture and gay issues.

These political and social themes are revealed through the novel’s main characters and their reflections on the world around them. 'Hollywood The Band' also provides information for people interested in the entertainment industry, including many common mistakes and challenges still faced by musicians.

“I am a child of the ‘60s,” Brooks says. “My inspiration was the times. Cultural shifts and changing attitudes defined a generation and influenced generations to come, and the story reflects this.”

'Hollywood The Band' is a multi-dimensional novel about a time, place, generation and industry that continues to intrigue audiences today.
