Improv Electronics announced the unveiling of two new Boogie Board LCD eWriter models — the Boogie Board Jot 4.5 LCD eWriter and the Boogie Board Sync 9.7 LCD eWriter — at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The show runs from January 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Boogie Board LCD eWriters are the eco-friendly, electronic paperless replacement for memo pads, sketch books, scratch pads, note books and other writing and drawing mediums. All Boogie Board LCD eWriters utilize revolutionary Reflex® No Power LCD technology for their writing surface. All Reflex LCDs used in Boogie Board eWriters are made of shatter-proof plastic.
“The two new models continue the evolution of the Boogie Board eWriter product line that started with the Boogie Board Jot 8.5 LCD eWriter in 2012,” said Improv Electronics CEO Dr. Albert Green. “Like the Boogie Board Jot 8.5 eWriter, the new Boogie Board Sync 9.7 eWriter and Boogie Board Jot 4.5 eWriter combine the superior writing experience and high contrast provided by Reflex LCD technology with a sleek, contemporary industrial design and enhanced functionality. This adds up to a very hot product line that has become one of the key drivers in the global paperless revolution.”
The new Boogie Board Sync 9.7 LCD eWriter takes note-taking to a whole new level. Users can save hundreds of pages in SD memory and then transfer files directly to a computer, tablet, smartphone or other mobile device instantly and wirelessly via Bluetooth. The bold, modern design is perfect for style-conscious business professionals and students. The 9.7-inch, pressure-sensitive writing surface (measured diagonally) provides the precision and control of a fine tip pen. Boogie Board Sync 9.7 eWriter is fully compatible with Windows and MAC OS and popular applications/technology like Evernote, OCR, Adobe® Illustrator and Adobe® Photoshop.
A Boogie Board Sync mobile app and Virtual Desktop Companion (VDC) software will also be available for the Boogie Board Sync eWriter. The VDC software will be available for download free from improvelectronics.com. It will add one-click Evernote and e-mail integration, a virtual whiteboard tool and other extended functionality. The mobile app will be available for Android and iOS devices. The VDC software will be available for Windows and MAC OS.
The new Boogie Board Jot 4.5 LCD eWriter’s compact, durable design is perfect for writing quick memos and reminders on-the-go. Small and lightweight, it fits easily into a pocket or purse. The attachable tapered stylus and stackable design provide a unique user experience, as do two holes for hanging notes on a pegboard or similar surface. The plastic, removable cover protects the writing surface from unwanted marks.
The Boogie Board Sync eWriter and the Boogie Board Jot 4.5 eWriter will be available in retail for Holiday 2013 (Q4). CES visitors can demo prototypes of both new models at the Improv Electronics booth (#35777; South Hall, upper level). They can also join in a group game hosted by Christine Alt-Parry, technology expert and QVC on-air guest, for a chance to win Boogie Board products and merchandise. The game is played every half hour daily (excluding 12:00-1:30) and features the new Boogie Board Sync eWriter.
In addition to exhibiting at CES, Improv Electronics will be presenting the full line of Boogie Board LCD eWriters to the media at the Showstoppers @ CES event from 6 to 10 p.m. on January 8 in the Lafite Ballroom of the Wynn Hotel.
