Duracore is more resilient and durable, able to fully withstand shipping, handling, installation and daily use for years, plus the finish is spectacular. DuraCore is a huge advantage for our customers and the new FRP standard for the bathware industry.
Anaheim, CA (PRWEB) January 08, 2013
Aquatic, the world leader in innovative and inspirational bathware, today announced availability of DuraCore(TM), the company’s new generation of fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) showers and tub-showers, and an important advancement for the industry. All FRP showers and tub-showers ordered as of January 7 will be made of DuraCore.
Aquatic’s FRP products have long led the market in quality and durability. Now, with the DuraCore reengineering, they are even stronger, glossier, brighter and whiter than before. They also outperform competitive offerings, based on tests conducted by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (or IAPMO, North America’s preeminent provider of independent testing, research and technical services to the plumbing and mechanical industries).
Because of DuraCore’s superior quality, Aquatic also provides a five-year warranty on its FRP offering. Consistent with company tradition, Aquatic has made all these enhancements at its own cost – without passing along the difference to customers.
“Aquatic is renowned for and we pride ourselves on always providing our customers with the best, possible bathware, and DuraCore is a great example of this,” said Stacy Zar, Director Marketing and New Product Development. “As good as our previous generation of FRP was, Duracore is more resilient and durable, able to fully withstand all the rigors of shipping, handling, installation and daily use for years to come, plus the finish is spectacular. DuraCore is both a huge advantage for our customers and the new FRP standard for the bathware industry.”
Duracore’s exceptional strength and aesthetic appeal come from four structural layers:
1. The surface layer is a premium-grade, gelcoat that is the brightest, whitest and glossiest finish compared with leading competitive products (according to IAPMO testing). The new Aquatic White finish beautifully complements other bathroom fixtures to create a truly inspirational space.
2. In the second layer, resin bonds thousands of small strands of fiberglass woven together to provide unparalleled structure and rigidity. Aquatic’s formula is higher in glass content than most competitive products, creating one of the strongest products on the market.
3. The third layer consists of corrugated reinforcement wrapped around all shower walls. Smooth-faced on both sides, the reinforcement ensures a uniform, high strength bond at all contact points, including corners and curved areas, for superior core rigidity.
4. The fourth layer is a second coat of the fiberglass/resin mixture on top of the corrugated reinforcement, fully encapsulating the core between two layers of lamination. As the formula cures, the lamination and reinforcement harden and solidify, building additional structure and strength.
Industry participants will have an opportunity to see and feel the DuraCore difference first-hand at the 2013 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas on January 22-24. Aquatic will debut an installed unit there in the Aurora house, one of several new homes comprising Professional Builder’s popular Show Village exhibit.
