Following an article about an electric toothbrush causing airport delays, Surf Patch offers their comments on the news.

On January 10, 2013, travel company Surf Patch commented on a article regarding an electric toothbrush, at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, hindering passengers ability to fly clear due to security delays.

According to the article, “Things are back to normal at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International airport after a toothbrush sparked a security scare Friday morning.” The article states that when a buzzing sound came from a piece of luggage at the airport, alarming concern brought attention the luggage.

The article mentions that parts of the airports terminal were shut down and even ground transportation was stopped. The article article also stated, that the delayed passengers took the news lightly and understood the situation, one man even saying he was also carrying an electric toothbrush and knows it can happen.

According to the article, “the airport general manager said he commends the employee who heard the buzzing sound and reported it to security. He told Elliot it took about 40 minutes to return everything to normal.”

Travel company Surf Patch, knows these kinds of delays can make it hard to flyclear of delays, but also ensures passenger safety. “Even though this turned out to be no major threat and mainly a hassle, it still shows that the airport security works hard to do all they can to keep passengers safe,” says world traveler Takara Licausi.
