Real-Time Data Stream Processing Service Extends Offering With Addition of Node.js to Speed Development of High-Concurrency Applications.

“We pay close attention to environments developers want to work in. Node.js is clearly one of them. Node and BrightContext together are a very powerful combination,” John Funge, CEO of BrightContext.

BrightContext, the real-time data stream processing platform, today announced support for Node.js, an open source server-side JavaScript solution for building high performance network applications. Node.js support complements BrightContext’s existing iOS and JavaScript SDKs. Developers can now use the BrightContext platform directly from within Node.js applications to process big data streams and power real-time communications.

As web and mobile applications serving large numbers of concurrent users increasingly become the norm, the need for scalable real-time backend solutions is growing. BrightContext believes the addition of Node.js support is an important next step in expanding its offering of a complete real-time solution for developers.

Node.js is a highly performant language with an event-driven architecture that reduces infrastructure demands traditionally associated with large-scale applications that serve thousands of concurrent connections. The rapid pace of its adoption amongst independent developers and businesses is in part thanks to its basis in JavaScript, allowing developers familiar with the language to quickly combine front-end and server-side architectures in their code.

BrightContext’s CTO, Leo Scott, said, “Node support is really exciting as a developer. Now, long running services can leverage our platform and take advantage of powerful concurrency features to simplify the creation of distributed real-time applications. Node.js empowers BrightContext users to explore JavaScript functionality beyond the traditional client-side restrictions.”

“We pay close attention to environments developers want to work in. Node.js is clearly one of them. Node and BrightContext together are a very powerful combination,” says John Funge, CEO of BrightContext.

Node.js support is made available via the latest version of the BrightContext JavaScript SDK. Using BrightContext’s new JavaScript SDK, developers can now call BrightContext from within their Node.js applications. The BrightContext JavaScript SDK is free to download and available via the BrightContext website.
