Research by company formation specialists Duport.co.uk shows a record number of company formations in Gillingham during the third quarter of 2012.
Between July and September, there were 148 company formations - more than any other third quarter on record for the area and a 23% rise on the same period in 2011.
The Duport report shows that net company growth also reached a record level in Q3, with the company register increasing by 84 - a significant rise when compared with an increase of 54 in 2011.
In addition, UK company share rose during the third quarter in Gillingham, as did the number of director appointments under the age of 25. Female director appointments stayed the same since 2005.
