On January 17, 2013, Spartan Race representative Carrie Adams comments on Chris Davis’ incredible story of weight loss and how Spartan Race changed his life forever.

According to a blog from Spartan Race, the Spartan Headquarters receives emails of success stories on a daily basis, but none as compelling as the story of Chris Davis and how Spartan Race changed his life forever.

Carrie Adams, author of the blog post, states that Spartan Race first met Chris in Georgia, where at 390 pounds he finished the race in just over three hours. However Georgia was not where Chris’ journey started, says the blog. According to the blog, “Chris started his [journey] at 696 pounds. [In] 2010, he heard of the Spartan Race and started losing weight.”

The blog mentions that Spartan Race has joined Chris in helping him meet his goal weight of 180 pounds. “He is currently down 300 pounds from his starting weight with the help of the Spartan Race motivation,” states the blog. The blog mentions that Chris will continue to document his journey of adventure racing by sharing it in his own Spartan Race blog over the next 5 months.

In his first blog entry, Chris Davis comments that on his flight to a Spartan Race training camp he needed a seatbelt extender and that he thought, “This is the last time I am ever going to need one.” He wasn’t wrong when he thought that.
