Online pathway to degrees, certificates at CCA in Colorado has multiple benefits and rivals the traditional in-person learning experience.

Many of our resident students work full time to support their families and may not be able to physically attend college, or live in rural areas, making furthering their education difficult logistically. We serve both populations.

Online education can offer convenience, quality, and teaching tools that meet or surpass brick-and-mortar institutions.

Advancing educationally may seem like a pipe dream to many who experience the daily grind, but it can be accomplished on one’s own time, online. Online education provides scheduling flexibility that can counterbalance busy lives. The wide range of courses and quality of instruction offered rivals the in-person experience, through the evolution of teaching tools made available via the latest technology. It’s not just a matter of time saved, but money. Travel costs, gas and time are lessened through the online experience. Add in the potential networking opportunities and online learning can be as valuable as it is a value, with credit-hour costs at community colleges being much lower than typical in-state four-year institutions.

A top choice for online learning among community colleges in Colorado, Community College of Aurora combines small class sizes and easily accessible instructors with the backing of the Higher Learning Commission, which accredits all of its online programs. CCA is a Colorado college that provides students a high level of comfort because of those qualities. A vast majority of students that took online classes at Community College of Aurora recently, in responding to an in-house survey, rated the college’s technology, convenience and user friendliness as either good or very good. A study of the online community college landscape conducted during the same period lauded CCA for its user-friendliness, convenience, interaction with instructors and other students, and technology.

“Many of our resident students work full time to support their families and may not be able to physically attend college, or live in rural areas, making furthering their education difficult logistically. We serve both populations,” said JoAnn Burkhart, CCA’s Associate Dean of Online Learning. “At the same time, these students want to be assured that the community college they’ve chosen will support their goals. We currently offer 474 ‘open-entry courses’ that begin in continuous intervals throughout semesters and 236 fully online courses, making CCA a wise selection as a Colorado community college online.”

Attending online classes means that students do not meet in person or see their instructor or classmates. But faculty is available via e-mail. Students can post images of themselves and usually are required to engage in classroom discussions via a discussion forum or chat through the online course management system. One distinct advantage of the online college dynamic is that this unique style of learning can accommodate the needs of all types of learners.

Those looking for online degrees in Colorado, or even across the country, should visit CCA’s website to peruse the online degrees and certificates available. Registration for Spring continues through January 28.
