“We all have problems,” she says, “and this book teaches children to persevere when they have problems.”

Even the youngest children have likely heard the story of the Gingerbread Man, but in her new illustrated children’s bookThe Gingerbread Princess” (published by Trafford Publishing) author Lorraine Fimbres offers them a new take on the old idea.

In “The Gingerbread Princess,” Fimbres tells readers the story of how the Gingerbread Man meets the Gingerbread Princess, and how she captures his heart even as he escapes from the people who want to eat him.

An excerpt from “The Gingerbread Princess”:

“The wife opened up the oven door, and out popped the Gingerbread Man. He ran around the kitchen floor and he jumped over the table.
The farmer and his wife chased him all over the house. The Gingerbread Man said, ‘I jumped to the floor, escaped under the door, and you can’t have any more.’”

Fimbres knows that her children’s book, like all children’s books, teaches children a valuable lesson. “We all have problems,” she says, “and this book teaches children to persevere when they have problems.”
