Patients who received a Rejuvenate Modular or ABG II modular-neck stem should stay focused on their health.
(PRWEB) January 14, 2013
Medical supply company Stryker Orthopaedics announced job cuts in anticipation of coming costs associated with ObamaCare. The announcement came approximately a month and a half after Stryker Hip Replacement Recalls of two of its artificial hip replacement systems, the Rejuvenate modular and ABG-II modular-neck hip stem implants. Blaming politics may divert attention away from the harder problem of the recalls, said Stryker hip recall lawyer Gary Iscoe of injury law firm Steinger, Iscoe & Greene.
Stryker created a stir with its plan to cut five percent of its worldwide workforce, or 1,170 jobs. The company blamed the tax, one of which is on medical devices, for these changes, said FOX News.
“Patients who received a Rejuvenate Modular or ABG II modular-neck stem should stay focused on their health,” said Iscoe.
The recalled hip products may cause significant health problems, said Fox News.
“Grinding of the metal-on-metal within the devices may produce shavings linked to metallosis, or metal poisoning,” added Iscoe.
Lawyer Gary Iscoe urges all patients who have received a recalled Stryker hip product, and are experiencing pain or swelling in or near their hip to make an appointment with their doctor. Hospitalization and corrective surgery may be necessary to alleviate pain and swelling caused by the recalled Stryker implants.
