Garden City, MI (PRWEB) January 14, 2013
Dr. Daniel Morof Dentist Garden City, MI recently introduced a new oral cancer screening procedure that has been proven to detect oral cancers earlier than typical visual exams and does so in less than two minutes with no pain. Although oral cancer is one of the most curable forms of cancer if caught early enough, it kills more than 8,000 people each year. With this new screening technology, Dr. Morof is helping his patients at Cherry Hill Dental Center have a better chance at detecting oral cancers early in conjunction with their regular cleanings.
“Our practice places a high priority on using proven state-of-the-art technology to enhance our patients’ experiences,” said Dr. Daniel Morof. “The Vizilite Plus is the latest technological advancement in detecting oral cancer, and we’re proud to be able to offer it to our patients not only to increase their level of comprehensive treatment, but to also save lives in some instances.”
The Vizilite Plus screening uses a combination of a pre-rinse solution and low intensity light from a handheld device that helps make cancerous cells more visible during the exam. Because abnormal cells are much easier to see during the exam, cancer can be detected much earlier. When done annually along with regular visits to the dentist for cleanings, patients at risk of oral cancer have an easy and effective way to prevent harmful cells from going unnoticed.
Clinical studies have shown that the Vizilite Plus resulted in no false negative outcomes and significantly reduced the number of false positive lesions identified during standard exams.
In addition to offering Vizilite Plus oral cancer screenings, Dr. Daniel Morof and his staff at Cherry Hill Dental Center in Garden City, MI also offer a variety of other advanced dental technology including CEREC technology for one-visit crowns and restorations, intraoral cameras, laser cavity detectors and more. Cherry Hill Dental Center specializes in comprehensive dental care including everything from cleanings and fillings to dental implants and orthodontics.
“We do our best to provide a unique dental experience that combines the right mix of personal care, the best technology and continuing education while being enjoyable, affordable, interactive and effective” said Dr. Morof.
Dr. Daniel Morof received his dental degree in 1990 from the University of Detroit School of Dentistry. He then went on to receive additional training in endodontics at Boston University School of Dentistry. He has a high interest in continuing education and has completed courses in orthodontics and oral implantology.
