Director appointments under the age of 25 rose to 7% during the third quarter of 2012, compared with 5% during the same period in 2011.
However, the number of female directors slumped during the third quarter. Just 20% of director appointments were female, compared with 28% during the same period in 2011.
The percentage of young directors was higher than the UK average of 6%, while the percentage of female directors was significantly lower than the UK average of 27%.
