Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 14, 2013
The Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF) – the nation’s largest non-profit organization devoted exclusively to funding innovative lymphoma research and serving the lymphoma community through a comprehensive series of education programs, outreach initiatives and patient services – is proud to announce the establishment of a Los Angeles Chapter. The Lymphoma Research Foundation’s Chapter Network is an organized group of volunteers who extend the reach of LRF by serving the lymphoma community at the local level. LRF currently has 18 chapters nationwide with over 5,000 volunteers committed to advancing LRF’s mission of eradicating lymphoma and serving those touched by this disease.
“We are excited to expand the Lymphoma Research Foundation’s Chapter Network into Los Angeles,” said James Testaverde, LRF’s Director of Chapters. “California had the highest lymphoma diagnosis rate in the country last year, with more than 8,000 new cases, so having a larger presence in California is critical to better serving the lymphoma community.”
With its Los Angeles Chapter, the Foundation seeks to raise awareness of lymphoma through local outreach and advocacy efforts, provide quality educational programming and patient services and raise funds to support innovative lymphoma research.
“As an LRF Board Member and California resident, I am honored to be a part of the development of a Los Angeles chapter,” said Tom Condon. “The Lymphoma Research Foundation is poised to make a significant impact in helping fund research for this common type of blood cancer and better meeting the needs of the California lymphoma community.”
The initial chapter leadership includes: Anne Keshen (Strategic Leadership), April Tam (Corporate Relations), Josh Rosenberg (Advocacy), Brittany Dupuy (Special Events), Kristin Wu (Communications and Outreach) and Tom Condon (Board Liaison).
