Following an article about how a man was wrongfully accused of owing debts for six years, Rapid Recovery Solution offers a response.

On January 16, 2013, Collection agency Rapid Recovery Solution, responded to a KUTV article by Matt Gephardt, regarding the news of the wrong man being harassed by debt collectors for six years.

According to the KUTV article, “It is certainly not unheard of for a debt collector to call the wrong person especially for people who have common names. But for Doug Dansie, what started as simple mistaken identity has turned into a massive hassle.”

The article states that for six years, Dansie has been receiving debt collection calls from the same firm about an overdue student loan, and they are calling the wrong man. Dansie says in the article that, “I've explained over and over and over this person has, not to my knowledge, ever lived here.”

According to the article, after Dansie explains himself they insist they will take him off of the list, or that they are a new company and did not know it was the wrong man, however after weeks of no calls they start up again. The article mentions that thanks to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Dansie no longer receives the calls after six years of the harassment.

John Monderine, CEO of collection agency Rapid Recovery Solution, expressed his thoughts towards the six year mistake. “Six years is ridiculous and an unacceptable amount of time to wrongfully try and collect a debt,” says Monderine. “Thankfully we are seeing acts and laws like the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act that are limiting unlawful debt collection.”
