According to the report Farmer David Millward claimed he could not walk 30ft and therefore could not work and has received £100,000 in benefits. He was caught on camera herding cattle and climbing fences. Footage taken by the Department of Work and Pensions showed Millward with only a slight limp, carrying bags of animal feed and filling trays and loading cattle into his trailer.
The report states that the video footage was taken in the summer of 2010 after a tip off launched a probe. He admitted illegally claiming income support and illegally collecting disability living allowance.
Judge Amjad Nawaz remanded Millward until February 4 with bail on condition he co-operates with doctors, and added that due to the sums involved a custodial sentence is probable. Wolverhampton court case number T20127482.
