Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 15, 2013
Last week in Las Vegas the beloved, quirky and “cool new web series” as acclaimed by USA Today, Squaresville, took home three IAWTV Awards, more than any other nominated show, for Best Comedy Series, Best Ensemble Performance and Best Writing in Comedy for series creator Matt Enlow. The IAWTV Awards are recognized as the official web television industry awards celebrating excellence in digital content creation.
In addition to their wins, the series received nominations in the categories for Best Actress in a Comedy for stars Kylie Sparks and Mary Kate Wiles as well as Best Directing (Comedy). Sparks and Wiles were also featured as presenters at Tuesday’s ceremony.
“We’re very thankful to have been recognized by the IAWTV for our work on Squaresville. Kylie, Mary Kate and the rest of our cast did an amazing job bringing the characters of Squaresville to life,” said Enlow. “We’re seeing a lot of excitement and support from our fans about Season Two. It's got the soul of the first season, but with new characters, a bigger world, and all the laughs and heartache you're hoping for. Congrats to the other winners and nominees. It's been a great year in web video, and an honor to be counted among so many talented artists.”
Squaresville, written and directed by Matt Enlow, follows the lives of two young girls, played by Mary Kate Wiles and Kylie Sparks, as they attempt to maintain best friend status in a town full of...squares. The 16 episode series debuted in Spring 2012 and was quickly recognized as a must-watch by USA Today, TV Line, Televisual, Clicker and Hello Giggles. Wiles and Sparks are internet series regulars having graced the screens of fellow IAWTV Award Winning series “The Lizzie Bennett Diaries,” and Blip.tv’s series “G.I.A. - The Girls Intelligence Agency.” The show is in production on a second season to debut early this year.
“When “Squaresville” first came to Big Frame in its first season, we immediately fell in love with its quirky appeal and amazing storytelling. Matt Enlow is such a talented creator and we’re thrilled to see the Squaresville team receive much-deserved recognition for the series,” said Sarah Penna, Big Frame’s Co-Founder and Head of Talent. “We’re excited to be a production partner for the next season of Squaresville and to be a part of bringing 16 more episodes to life.”
Big Frame, a YouTube media company based out of LA, provides “Squaresville” with marketing and audience development support. Big Frame has also co-developed and co-produced a second season of “Squaresville,” set to premiere later this spring.

Squaresville chronicles the misadventures of best friends Esther and Zelda, played by Mary Kate Wiles and Kylie Sparks, growing up in a town with nothing to do and that doesn’t understand them. In the vein of Freaks & Geeks, Daria, and Ghost World, Squaresville is a teen comedy with a sarcastic edge, but that stays true to what it feels like to be growing up unsure of who you want to be. Join the adventures of these two suburban misfit teens, as they struggle to remain best friends, grow up, and make the world a little better.
