It’s official – the IGN Pro League (IPL), the competitive video game league presented by IGN Entertainment, will head back to Sin City for the third time for IPL 6, Thursday, March 28 through Sunday, March 31, 2013 at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
IPL6 will feature popular eSports titles League of Legends and StarCraft II and ShootMania Storm, as well as more titles that will be announced in the coming weeks. Tournaments begin Thursday, March 28 with a special VIP-only viewing day. From Friday, March 29 through Sunday, March 31, live spectating will be open for General Admission ticket holders. For fans catching IPL6 at home, IGN will have at least six HD live streams covering the event from beginning to end.
Through January 31, tickets for IPL 6 are $15 per person for general admission and $250 (plus $50 IPL hoodie) for VIP. After January, General Admission tickets will be $30 in advance or $50 at the door, and VIP tickets will be $250 in advance and $300 at the door. IPL 6 follows the success of IPL 5, the IGN Pro League’s last event which drew in more than 10,000 spectators to the sold-out venue at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and drew in a record-breaking 454,000 concurrent online viewers, 61 million video views and 6 million unique online viewers, making it the largest-ever online viewership for an eSports event held in North America.* Since its launch in April 2011, each of the IGN Pro League’s major tournament events (IPL1, IPL2, IPL3, IPL4 and IPL5) has more than doubled in traffic every 6 months.
