Mr. Douglass brings to ServiceMesh 15 years of rich experience defining strategy and investments in the enterprise IT sector. In recent years, Mr. Douglass has been a key contributor to the emerging enterprise cloud operating model, including work in expanding the notions of the Software Defined Datacenter, Big Data, Software-defined Networking, and OpenStack. Prior to ServiceMesh, he served as Managing Director of EMC Ventures.

SiliconAngle recently said, “Shawn was the key player at EMC that turned their primarily east coast corp dev driven VC arm into a Silicon Valley venture capitalist powerhouse.” At ServiceMesh, Mr. Douglass will be responsible for a wide range of technology-driven activities across the organization from developing strategy to applying market and customer insights and advancing key strategic partnerships.
Mr. Douglass spent over ten years at EMC, where he began as Director of Partner Engineering, and served as Senior Director Advanced Technology Ventures for the Office of the CTO, before becoming Managing Director for EMC Ventures. Prior to EMC, Mr. Douglass was an early employee at Digital Island and Loud Cloud/Opsware helping empower their IPOs. He has served on the Board of Directors and as Chairman of the Technical Steering Committee for the Enterprise Grid Alliance (EGA), and was on the Joyent Board of Directors as the EMC Observer.
