According to ITERA International Group of Companies China and Russia are two nations pursuing common goals, at least in terms of their energy development activities. China has made headlines, in recent months, for its energy production efforts in both Central Asia and in Africa, prompting speculation as to what the nation’s energy intentions truly are. ITERA International Group of Companies has joined in the speculation, issuing a new statement to the press and weighing in on China’s recent energy endeavors.
“Under the terms of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Russia and China are cooperating as they turn their attention toward the energy resources so plentiful in Central Asia,” says the new press statement from ITERA International Group of Companies. “In fact, ITERA’s own experts believe that China and Russia have roughly the same attitude when it comes to Central Asia—namely, a desire to keep their own respective economics balanced, and also every intention to maintain stability throughout the continent.” Ultimately, ITERA says, Central Asia may become less of a major energy production priority for Russia or for China.
ITERA International Group of Companies continues its press statement by noting that, “When it comes to Africa, the story is different.” Continues the company’s press statement, “Today, Europe and the U.S. face many internal problems caused by the global financial crisis. China does not have such problems, so its goal is to invest into African countries to get access to their natural resources.” ITERA International Group of Companies notes that China’s economy is doing well but its industry is severely limited by a lack of energy resources—hence, China’s interest in energy investments beyond its own borders.
“At the end of the day, it is not surprising that so much of China’s investment activity is in mining infrastructures throughout the world, but particularly in Africa,” the press statement concludes. “In the opinion of ITERA’s energy experts, there is simply no way to contain China’s economic expansion, nor its energy expansion.”
