Although the National Cancer Society lists prostate cancer as the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States each year, there have been several recent discoveries which have been shown to treat this potentially deadly disease through natural treatment methods. A recent podcast posted on health and wellness portal BeWellBuzz.com hosted by renown Nutritionist Shawn Stevenson provides listeners several natural remedies for treating the side-effects related to prostate problems and in some cases reduce the chances of being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.

A common problem in almost all men as they grow older is an enlarged prostate. This is called benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH. It does not raise the risk of prostate cancer. However, it can increase PSA blood test results. The PSA blood test is often done to screen men for prostate cancer. Because of PSA testing, most prostate cancers are now found before they cause any symptoms. And due to this fact, many medical researchers have tested several natural methods of treating BPH such as the natural herb saw palmetto to treat the problem as opposed to attempting to cure the disease.

“Prostate cancer can be a serious disease, but most men diagnosed with prostate cancer do not die from it as it is very slow growing,” noted Shawn Stevenson, the resident nutritionist from BeWellBuzz.com. “In fact, more than 2.5 million men in the United States who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer at some point are still alive today, largely in part to early detection and natural methods of reducing elevated PSA blood test results.”

Joining Stevenson on the BeWellBuzz.com podcast is Ron Bazar, an author of a natural prostate remedy program; “Healthy Prostate: The Extensive Guide to Prevent and Heal Prostate Problems”. In the podcast, Bazar provides real-world examples and expertise to what causes prostate problems, what men should and should not do with enlarged prostate issues, and how diet and exercise can significantly reduce the onset of BPH in men.
