“DIY divorces have been available for years and we have had numerous clients who tried DIY and then came to us for DivorceXpress™ because of uncertainties, confusion and mistakes”.
Round Rock, TX (PRWEB) January 22, 2013
Patricia L. Brown & Associates, one of the most experienced law firms in Round Rock, Texas announced today it had completed its 150th DivorceXpress™ case during the last quarter of 2012. DivorceXpress™ was created by the firm after the financial crisis left many couples seeking divorce without the financial resources to execute it properly, and as a safer alternative to DIY divorce.
A person undertaking a DIY project at home has likely talked with a professional or friend who knew the subject thoroughly, whether building a bookcase or repairing a car. Divorce should be undertaken with at least as much care.
According to Patricia Brown, the founder and managing partner of the firm, “DIY divorces have been available for years and we have had numerous clients who tried DIY and then came to us for DivorceXpress™ because of uncertainties, confusion and mistakes. We expect the recent Supreme Court ruling will increase these cases. We also offer a free seminar on DIY divorce”.
Late last year, the Texas Supreme Court proposed a standardized form, tailored to Texas law and acceptable in all Texas courts, which would be available to low income and childless couples in uncontested divorces. In Texas, 58,000 people filed pro-se — or lawyerless — cases in family courts in 2012.
The Texas Family Law Foundation said it was disappointed with the court’s decision, commenting that it’s dangerous to take Texans down the path of do-it-yourself litigation. The Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas warned of the potential for confusion and chaos.
DivorceXpress™ offers the best of both worlds for uncontested divorces. For less than $500, couples can be confident that all the paperwork is handled properly and not only conforms to Texas law, but meets the needs and demands of Williamson or Travis County courts and judges.
According to Ms. Brown, “We’re Close To You™ reflects not only the proximity of most of our clients in the Williamson County and north Austin areas, but, more importantly, how we think about, and treat, our clients: with compassion and sensitivity. Offering low cost divorces and free seminars comports with this philosophy”.
