Fed Stories No. 3 - Exfederal.com Founder Ginger Groeber

It’s important to help people who are looking for contracting jobs because they have a wealth of experience that we’re losing in the Government...I think it’s critically important that we don’t lose that capability.

Thousands of government contracting jobs exist, but the laborious processes of finding the opportunities or qualified applicants to fill the positions is causing the government to lose uniquely qualified workers. Exfederal.com founder Ginger Groeber discusses how her startup company is trying to combat these problems in a video the website released today.

“It’s important to help people who are looking for contracting jobs because they have a wealth of experience that we’re losing in the government...I think it’s critically important that we don’t lose that capability, that we don’t lose that expertise that they have and we’re really able to give them an opportunity to come back in and serve in the Government, but in a different capacity,” Groeber said.

Groeber’s tale is the third installment in the Fed Stories series, through which Exfederal.com users offer helpful insights concerning Government contracting by recounting their experiences transitioning to and operating within the industry. The full series can be found at stories.exfederal.com.

The videos, produced by PlayLab, put a human face on contracting and identify the opportunities for companies and employees in the industry. Exfederal.com’s aim is to connect job seekers with Federal experience to companies with Government contracts. The company hopes that sharing users’ experience through Fed Stories will show others in the same situation how they can be aided and motivated in their job search.

About Exfederal.com

Founder Ginger Groeber, former Head of Personnel at the Department of Defense, started Exfederal.com to fill a void she found when transitioning from a successful career in government to one in the private sector. Although thousands of federal contracting jobs were available, Groeber discovered that finding qualified applicants to fill them could be a laborious and expensive task. She founded Exfederal.com as a user-friendly solution that connects contractors who want to hire experienced government personnel with applicants who want to use their federal experience to transition to the government contracting industry.

Exfederal.com has two offerings - government contracting job postings and a searchable database of applicant resumes. The database is mostly comprised of applicants with former or current federal experience, especially clearance positions, which employers can search using detailed filters that allow them to find the exact candidates they need. Joining the database is always free for applicants, as searching for jobs should be.
