Schumacher Group (SG) announces that Gary Keller, former CEO and President of Opelousas General Health System, has returned to the emergency medicine management company to serve as Executive Vice President. Keller has as strong history with Schumacher Group, where he first served as Executive Vice President and Principal in 1995. It was under his leadership that the company grew from $3 million to $270 million in the first twelve years of operation and expanded from Louisiana into sixteen states. Post-retirement from SG in 2007, Keller continued to serve as a board member. He then accepted a CEO position at Lafayette Surgical Specialty Hospital, where he remained until his most recent position with Opelousas General Health System.
“Gary was instrumental in the building of Schumacher Group from the ground up as our past President,” said SG Founder, Chairman and CEO Dr. William “Kip” Schumacher. “We welcome his guidance, wisdom, and leadership as we move into the next dimension of excellence in performance, high touch with patients, and profitability as an enterprise.”

In related news, Cantrell, a Texas native, brings more than 15 years of healthcare revenue cycle management experience on both the provider and payor side to his role as CRO. He joined SG in 2012 from EmCare and previously served at Pinnacle Anesthesia, Deloitte Consulting, KPMG and Arthur Andersen.
