“We wanted our employees to participate in giving back to those in the community in a way that’s both meaningful and fun,” said SoftRock’s COO, Kelly Romero.

SoftRock Orlando Inc., a rapidly growing technology company, brought joy to Orlando during the 2012 holiday season with random acts of kindness throughout the community.
More than 87 SoftRock employees divided into five teams, each team receiving $600 to spread cheer to unsuspecting recipients in Central Florida.
One team of managers and trainers paid the cost of a family’s studio portraits. Softrock’s HR, legal and compliance team purchased a family’s items at Goodwill and then took the family to a nearby Ross for a surprise upgrade of purchases. The team also left a big tip for a waitress.
“We wanted our employees to participate in giving back to those in the community in a way that’s both meaningful and fun,” said SoftRock’s COO, Kelly Romero. “It was a blessing to be able to provide such help and for our teams to experience the elation of those who received a random act of kindness.”
All of the teams collected photos and documented their actions to create a 24-by-36-inch framed collage, which is now displayed at SoftRock’s MetroWest headquarters.
In 2011, SoftRock adopted the Central Florida Children’s Home and held a toy drive for Florida Institute of Technology. In 2010, SoftRock and its employees adopted a Head Start class and the Ivey Lane Homes in Orlando.
