Virginia Heritage Bank employees joined bankers from across the Commonwealth to support the banking industry and meet with elected state legislators. Speaker of the House, William J. Howell welcomed everyone at the Richmond Downtown Marriott while attendees enjoyed a continental breakfast. VBA Representative, Matt Bruning, then spoke about some of the issues that should be discussed with legislators in the halls of the General Assembly later in the day. After the legislative visits, attendees take a group photo on the steps of the State Capitol Building and then proceeded to a luncheon back at the Marriott.

The Virginia Bankers Association- is comprised of commercial banks and thrifts with offices in Virginia. VBA member banks represent institutions of all sizes, from the smallest community bank to the largest nationwide bank with a presence in the Commonwealth. Over the years, Banker Day has become a critical component of overall advocacy efforts. The growing numbers and unified voice are able to touch all 140 members of the General Assembly. Hearing from constituent bankers is essential for legislators to be able to understand issues important to the industry as a whole and those specifically important to each bank.
