With the help of its employees and clients, RMI Management collected over 250 cell phones to donate to Cell Phones for Soldiers.

RMI Management, a FirstService Residential Management company and Nevada’s largest community management company, collected 255 cell phones statewide for the Cell Phones for Soldiers program.

In July, RMI Management began collecting gently used cell phones to be recycled. The proceeds from the recycled phones are being used to purchase calling cards for U.S. soldiers deployed overseas.

“We have been amazed at the number of cell phones we’ve collected in the past six months,” said Steven Parker, president of RMI Management. “The interest from the community has been great and the willingness to help our troops stay in touch with their loved ones has definitely been demonstrated.”

As a result of the success of this effort, RMI Management will continue to collect cell phones for the Cell Phones for Soldiers program on a continual basis, Parker added.

Gently used, late-model cell phones are preferred. However, he said any type of cell phone from any carrier may be donated.

Phones can be dropped off at the following locations:

  •     630 Trade Center Drive, Suite 100, in Las Vegas
  •     7951 Deer Springs Way, Suite 170, in North Las Vegas
  •     6170 Ridgeview Court, Suite C, in Reno
