National chain of discount pharmacies implements free Magento extension to launch international checkout and shipping with GlobalShopex

Building on its global heritage, Navarro Discount Pharmacies today announced the addition of international checkout and global shipping capabilities to more than 200 countries through a partnership with GlobalShopex. Navarro was founded in Havana, Cuba in 1940 and has since grown to over thirty retail locations in the United States and a thriving eCommerce web site. The retailer targets ethnic markets, particularly Hispanic customers, with a unique product offering catering to this market.

The partnership with GlobalShopex allows the company to offer international customers an easy to use checkout system for their web site, including calculation of duties and taxes as well as local currency calculation. Customer service will also be provided in the customers’ local language. Shipping on international orders will be handled for Navarro from GlobalShopex’ international hub in Miami, Florida.

GlobalShopex is the leading provider of international ecommerce solutions for US-based online retail operators, providing easy to implement solutions for retailers to enable international checkout on their web sites and ship worldwide, without taking on the risk of fraud. In business since 1999, the Company owns an international logistics network, which allows it to offer better rates and a higher quality of service than other providers.

The company implemented a free software extension from GlobalShopex for their Magento-powered online store, and had international shipping live very quickly. With a few additional steps, the Company announced global shipping to its customers, and Navarro was selling internationally in less than a week.

"We are very excited about the potential for international markets for our unique product offering,” said Gus Milla, Director of eCommerce. “We operate our web store on the Magento platform, and the free extension made it so fast and easy to get up and rolling with international shipping. I just can’t believe how quick and easy it was to add this capability to our site. And we only pay when we sell, which made the decision to implement GlobalShopex very easy.”

“We are thrilled to add Navarro to our list of leading retailers utilizing the GlobalShopex solution,” said Raimundo Martinez, President of GlobalShopex. “Navarro has made a very important strategic move by enabling checkout and shipping to their international customer base.
