Diet-to-Go Receives Number One Spot in Blind Taste Test

Independent reviewers select the best-looking, best-tasting diet delivery meals

NextAdvisor, an independent Internet research firm that reviews and compares products and services for consumers, rated Diet-to-Go as the number one diet delivery service in a blind taste test last week.

The test compared Diet-to-Go with four other national diet meal delivery services, including Jenny Craig, BistroMD, Nutrisystem and eDiets. NextAdvisor anonymously ordered food from each service and recruited ten independent males and females, to rate a breakfast, lunch and dinner from each delivery service for appearance and taste.

According to NextAdvisor, Diet-to-Go was named the number one best-tasting service for those interested in weight loss or weight maintenance.

Participants sampled the meals over a three-day period, trying two different diet programs’ food each day. Meals were all heated in the microwave, and the participants did not know which delivery service they were sampling.

The results revealed the reviewers were the most satisfied with Diet-to-Go food.

NextAdvisor also rated each diet delivery service’s breakfasts, lunches and dinners independently of the overall rating. The firm used a 5-star ranking to list the results from the blind taste test. Diet-to-Go and Jenny Craig received 5 out of 5 stars for their breakfasts, BistroMD received 3 stars and both Nutrisystem and eDiets received 2 stars. Diet-to-Go was the only service to receive 5 stars for lunch, Jenny Craig was awarded 4, BistroMD was given 3 and both Nutrisystem and eDiets received 3 stars. BistroMD received the highest rating overall for dinner, 5 out of 5 stars. Both Jenny Craig and Diet-to-Go were given 4 1/2 stars. Nutrisystem and eDiets took up the rear, receiving 2 1/2 and 2 stars, respectively.

Diet-to-Go was the only service to receive an almost-perfect rating, five stars.

Hilton Davis, CEO of Diet-to-Go, said he is pleased the reviewers chose Diet-to-Go in the blind taste test.

Diet-to-Go offers customers the opportunity to choose from three different menus, low fat, vegetarian and low-carb. Customers can choose to take a free dietary analysis on the company’s website to help customize their meal plans, and the website offers an “Ask the Dietician” feature for customers to email questions to resident dietician Rebecca Mohning. Mohning is a registered dietician and personal trainer.

“Our goal is to make the process as easy as possible for our customers,” said Davis. “We want people to understand that our meals are not only healthy and help them lose weight, but also can help people learn how to eat healthy foods in reasonable portions and change their eating behavior for a life-long healthy lifestyle change.”
