Animal Amore Tour – Day Event
February 14-15, 2013 9:00am - 11:00am
Start off your day and the Valentine’s Day weekend at the Oakland Zoo as the animals begin to stir. Learn about and create enrichment while you enjoy light refreshments and hear numerous stories of the interesting courtship behaviors of the animal kingdom. Pre-Registration is required and space is limited, so reserve your spot today. Cost is $10.00 for members, with free parking, or $25.00 plus an $8.00 parking fee for non-members. Animal Amore – Adult Night Event

Celebrate your Valentine's Day with the animals! Enjoy this adult event that highlights the amusing love lives of animals. Enjoy sweet and savory refreshments, wine parings, fascinating company, and hilarious animal stories. It will be a night to remember! Program fee for members is $35.00 or $40.00 for non-members. Walk in the Wild Reservations Go on Sale

Make reservations today! You will enjoy the Zoo like never before. Now in its twenty- first year, Walk in the Wild - An Epicurean Escapade is one of the Bay Area’s premier fundraising events. Experience close to 100 restaurants, caterers, bakeries, wineries, and brew houses that will be setup throughout the Zoo offering samples while you listen to live music and enjoy your Zoo surroundings. This adult-only event supports the Oakland Zoo’s conservation, education, and animal care programs. Reservations can be made online beginning March 1, 2013. Oakland Zoo’s ZooCamp Registration Begins
Monday, March 11, 2013
Oakland Zoo’s ZooCamp 2013 registration opens for members on Monday, March 11, 2013 and for non-members on Monday, March 18, 2013. Sessions and classes fill quickly, so we highly recommend registering early. The Oakland Zoo invites campers for an exciting week of nature discovery, animal adventures, and fun. ZooCamp will include activities such as stories, puppet play, games, craft projects, science activities and of course, animals. The Oakland Zoo takes great pride in creating age-appropriate options for campers age four through high school. Camp sessions are one week long and run from mid-June to mid-August. Creek Crew Work Day at Oakland Zoo

Come to the Arroyo Viejo Creek and experience the local habitat, while helping it thrive. Grab your gardening gloves and help clean up the creek. We will work in rain or shine, so come prepared! Wear close-toed shoes that can get dirty. Don't forget your water and snacks. Gloves and tools will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. One adult chaperone is required for every 4 youth volunteers, 13 years of age and younger as well as one for every 8 youth volunteers between 14 - 18 years of age. The Oakland Zoo is located at 9777 Golf Links Road, Oakland, CA 94605. The creek is located to the right of the main entrance. Meet at the Arroyo Viejo Creek sign. RSVPs are appreciated. Feast for the Beasts
Saturday, March 30, 2013 9:00am – 3:00pm
Oakland Zoo visitors are encouraged to donate fresh produce, such as apples, watermelon, grapes, carrots, lettuce, or other delicious fruits and vegetables to help feed the animals. The first 250 guests will receive a golden ticket to spread produce in the elephant exhibit. Once all the food is in place, everyone exits the exhibit to watch the hungry herd chow down on their treats. You won’t want to miss this one of a kind experience that the Oakland Zoo is offering. This event is included with regular Zoo admission. **Note if weather or mud is a factor, guests will not be able to enter the elephant exhibit; other arrangements for the elephant feeding will be made. Oakland Zoo’s Spring Break ZooCamp
March 25-28, 2013 & April 1-4, 2013
Looking for something fun and educational for the kids to do during Spring Break? Why not check out the Oakland Zoo’s Spring Break ZooCamp? It’s all the fun of summer ZooCamp packed into one day workshops! Activities will include Zoo tours, animal close-ups, crafts, puppet play, costumes, and song sessions. Earth Day 2013

In celebration of Earth Day, the Oakland Zoo offers you the chance to explore more than fifty earth stations and demonstrations that all offer hands-on fun and educational adventures. Visit with dozens of local environmental non-profit organizations, get your face painted, observe beautiful animals, and enjoy a wild earth day adventure at the Zoo. Be inspired by Oakland Zoo’s Quarters for Conservation project. Plus, recycle an old cell phone and receive a free train ride. This Earth Day event is included with regular Zoo admission. Mother’s Day at Oakland Zoo

In celebration of Moms on Mother's Day, the Oakland Zoo is offering all moms a free train ride on the Outback Express Adventure Train where one can see wallaroos and emus up close. Spending a day at the Zoo is a great way to celebrate Mother's Day. Bring the whole family to see siamang swing, lemurs leap, and river otters. 16th Annual Celebrating Elephants Reception, Lecture, & Silent Auction

Please join us on May 17, 2013, for an evening of Celebrating Elephants! The Oakland Zoo is proud to present the Founder and Director of the nation’s first elephant sanctuary, the Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Ed Stewart, as this year’s guest lecturer. Start the evening off with the opportunity to enjoy delicious food while perusing the many wonderful silent auctions items. This evening event will be held in the Marian Zimmer Auditorium. We are requesting a donation of $40 per person. All proceeds from the evening event will benefit the Amboseli Elephant Research Project. Celebrating Elephants Day at Oakland Zoo

Today, May 25, 2013, is Elephants Day at the Oakland Zoo. All events and activities will focus on elephants. There will be elephant information stations throughout the Zoo, teaching fascinating things about our precocious pachyderms. One will even have the chance to go behind-the-scenes for an elephant barn tour ($5 fee). Kids and adults, grab your binoculars and data sheet to become an elephant researcher for the day at Oakland Zoo's elephant research camp. All proceeds go to the Amboseli Elephant Research Project.
