“Attaining these goals has required a greater commitment of resources on our part. But the result is a more innovative industrial process – and a more efficient and productive facility – that benefits our customers.”

PENETRON International has been successfully certified for the ISO 14001 environmental standards in a third-party audit of its facilities, including the company’s product development center and production plant in Allentown, PA (USA).
“This ISO certification is a key industry benchmark,” explains Christopher Chen, Director of PENETRON International. “Our strict adherence to high levels of quality and reliability are more than simply a certification. Meeting the ISO standards is vital for the success of the solutions developed and marketed by PENETRON.”
ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized standard that emphasizes the continuous improvement of an environmental management system (EMS). More specifically, the ISO 14001 standards deal with the management of production processes, general operations procedures and product performance. Similar to ISO 9000 quality management, ISO 14001 focuses on the process of how a product is produced and used, rather than just the product itself. Ultimately, organizations that are ISO 14001-certified are committed to reducing the effect of their business operations on the environment.
“Meeting the ISO standards helps PENETRON minimize the environmental impact of our production processes and effects of the use of our products,” concludes Christopher Chen. “They will also help us continually improve our overall environmental performance.”
Starting with the company’s ISO 9002 certification over a decade ago, PENETRON has consistently followed a policy of voluntary certifications. The ISO 14001 certification is only the latest step in the “Total Quality” program to continually upgrade the company’s environmental, health and safety processes.
“ISO 14001 is an important milestone that can only be achieved with an effective EMS that provides strict processes that conform to the ISO guidelines,” adds Robert Revera, President and CEO of PENETRON International. “Attaining these goals has required a greater commitment of resources on our part. But the result is a more innovative industrial process – and a more efficient and productive facility – that benefits our customers.”
