Delta Travel is promoting new specials for travel to France for members of their private travel club.
According to the travel manager at Delta, Jim Hardy, "Delta is all about finding deals for members so they can travel more often, and have more money to spend while on vacation. It's confusing. People see that they can get fifty percent off on a trip, but they're getting that discount off of an inflated rate, and in the end, they're still paying a lot more than they need to for their vacations. We just recently came across a new vendor who offers amazing deals to France so whenever this happens, we like to let our members know right away."
Delta Travel is a private, members only travel club, where one pays an initial membership fee and a small annual dues in order to get the right or ability to book all travel at cost, saving them hundreds of thousands of dollars.
As far as France goes, people often ask, when is the best time to go? It is recommended to viisit Paris in the spring (Apr-June) or fall (Sept-Nov), when things are easier to come by -- from Métro seats to good-tempered waiters. The weather is temperate year-round. July and August are the worst for crowds.
Hotels used to charge off-season rates during the cold, rainy period from November to February; now, they're often packed with business travelers, trade fairs, and winter tour groups, and hoteliers have less incentive to offer discounts. Airfares are still cheaper from November to February, and more promotions are available.
Also worth mentioning, the first two weeks in October is the even-numbered years is the auto show, so Paris is very crowded.
As far as weather goes, Paris is seldom cold, but conditions vary from region to region. The Mediterranean coast in the south has the driest climate. When it does rain, it's heaviest in spring and autumn.
