30 employees worked alongside students and staff of the YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School to help rejuvenate a Kingsessing elementary school.

Today, DMi Partners, in collaboration with YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School, served its community by volunteering at William C. Longstreth Elementary School as part of the 18th Annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service (http://www.mlkdayofservice.org/). DMi Partners, an interactive marketing agency, has participated in the day of service with YouthBuild Philadelphia since 2005.

Throughout the day, volunteers worked to beautify the school and the surrounding Kingsessing neighborhood by painting walls and blacktop areas, installing murals, and cleaning up nearby blocks. Volunteers also completed indoor projects, including compiling literacy kits, preparing care packages, and assembling no-sew blankets.

“It’s remarkable to see the Philadelphia Region’s enthusiasm for serving others each Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. I am proud to lead a team that understands the value of giving back to the community year-round and we are especially thrilled to work with YouthBuild annually on this day to help make a difference,” said Patrick McKenna, CEO of DMi Partners and member of the YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School Board of Trustees.

Over 100,000 volunteers served communities in the Greater Philadelphia Region today, maintaining Philadelphia’s reputation as the region with the largest Martin Luther King Day of Service turnout nationwide. Philadelphia’s King Day of Service program was also the first in the nation, beginning in 1996 with 1,000 volunteers.
